JOHN AMPLAS

Actor: Martin, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow

Actor John Amplas’s first starring role 40 years ago, in 1978’s MARTIN, had a huge critical and horror-cultural impact, and George Romero’s revisionist vampire film—his self-proclaimed favorite among all of his movies—went on to become a landmark of cult cinema.

John became a long-running member of the late director’s Pittsburgh stock company, taking later roles in DAWN OF THE DEAD, KNIGHTRIDERS, CREEPSHOW and DAY OF THE DEAD as well as MIDNIGHT, directed by NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD’s co-creator John Russo.

John Amplas will be a part of our tribute to George Romero, one of the most popular and beloved guests in WonderFest’s history, and will also join Doc Gangrene for a double-feature shock show on Saturday night!
