What is Iron Modeler? Well, have you ever seen the "Iron Chef" show on the Food Network? It's like that, but with models. Eight 3-person teams are given a "base item" (could be a kit, could be a random item), a big pile of parts, greeblies and assorted castaway household items, and 4 hours to build the best model they can out of what they've got.
A spray booth and paints are provided as well, but you need to bring any glue or tools that you'd like to use. At the end of four hours, the models are judged and the Iron Modeler champion team is crowned, giving them bragging rights for the next year. Oh, and there's prizes too.
Official start time is 6pm, but you can arrive any time after 5:30 to setup your table. Teams should arrive no later than 5:45. If your team is not there by the 6pm start time, another team will your place.
It's competitive fun, and it's sponsored by Starship Modeler!
WonderFest and the F.A.B.ulous Anthony Taylor will launch our Gerry Anderson memorial event with a nostalgic blastoff to our collective past!

Join us and our treasured Supermarionation friends for highlights from two decades of old-school FXtravaganzas like Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds, as well as Gerry’s legendary live-action shows UFO and Space: 1999. Hard-drinking (and smoking!) puppets collide with danger, awesome Derek Meddings-orchestrated special effects mayhem and hot chicks in purple wigs in this fun, fast-paced salute to the man who created so many happy childhoods all over the world.
We’ve pulled a lot of strings to make this one happen, so don’t miss it!
50 years ago American International Pictures and Roger Corman unleashed one of the most beloved and hilarious horror comedies ever produced in the feathery form of The Raven, and we're celebrating that anniversary as part of our salute to the final, incredibly productive decade of horror legend Boris Karloff's career! Join his daughter Sara Karloff for a screening of this legendary collaboration between director Corman, screenwriter Richard Matheson, stars Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Hazel Court... and an inconceivably boyish Jack Nicholson, Saturday night starting at 9PM in the upstairs Theater B! Thrills, chills, laughs and sorcery most fowl (sorry) will rule the night as Dr. Scarabus entertains entertains his overnight guests...
These events are FREE for all paid WonderFest attendees.

Just Added! Rondo Award-winning Monsterkid Tom Stockman has risen to the occasion with an all-new retro-tinged salute to the work of the late Master of the Majicks, Ray Harryhausen!
